Signature Orthopedics has partnered with SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital and the Arthritis Foundation to offer a free community education event on sports medicine and injuries from high intensity exercise programs. The event, titled “From Couch to Championship: Overcoming Fitness Injuries,” will be held Nov. 14, 2018 at the hospital.
Two local orthopedic physicians will present on injuries of the knees and shoulders, areas commonly affected by high intensity fitness workouts and strength and interval training programs. There will also be time for an audience Q&A.
Dr. Scott Zehnder is a fellowship-trained and board-certified orthopedic surgeon. His specialties include sports medicine, total joint replacement, and the prevention of injuries related to sports and exercise. An athlete himself, he is committed to treating sports injuries in people of all ages.
Dr. Vince Lai is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who treats all orthopedic issues, including sports injuries and orthopedic trauma. He also provides minimally invasive treatments, joint arthroscopy and total joint replacement. He is particularly interested in fixing issues of the shoulder.
